Our Story


Mayhem Motors was founded by Matt Fanucchi in the carport of his childhood apartment in Buena Park, California. Long before owning his first vehicle, Matt was already building a reputation—performing oil changes, repairs, performance upgrades, and even engine swaps for friends and neighbors. What began as a passion quickly evolved into a clear vision: to create a business that could handle every aspect of the automotive world.

By the age of 15, Matt had already owned two vehicles—a Chevy Nova and a Pontiac Firebird—and by the time he graduated high school, he had bought, sold, and traded more than seven cars. During this time, he discovered Craigslist, which became a powerful tool in accelerating his growth. Through strategic buying and selling, Matt generated the capital that would lay the foundation for Mayhem Motors.

At 25, Matt had owned over 75 vehicles, all while working full-time as a union elevator mechanic. Despite the demands of his career, he remained committed to honing his craft—learning from some of the most skilled auto mechanics, metal fabricators, and engine builders throughout Orange County, California.

This hands-on experience shaped the expertise and standards that define Mayhem Motors today.
Matt continued building his business from his home garage until 2012, when he officially opened the first Mayhem Motors shop in Stanton, California. By then, his experience spanned a wide range of automotive disciplines, including off-road, motocross, custom trucks, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and modern muscle cars.

With a strong foundation and growing reputation, Mayhem Motors expanded beyond its original roots. In 2015, Matt brought the brand to Fort Worth, Texas, and in 2017, expanded again to Riverside, California—turning a carport startup into a multi-location operation driven by passion, expertise, and a commitment to excellence.
